The subterranean nightclub in Austrailla named Chequers was hosting anybody who was somebody.  One special band in particular was taking the stage for the first time on New Year's Eve in 1974...

The Band Was ACDC

The bands secret weapon was Malcom's little brother, a maniac guitarist by the name of Angus Young.  ACDC's name was taken from a power outlet on their vacuum cleaner some wrongly assumed them and they started playing at a group of gay bars.  Some of ACDC's electrifying shows saw angus not only as a school boy but sometimes dressed as Spiderman.  In July ACDC's first single "Can I Sit Next To You Girl" was backed with "Rockin' In The Parlour" was released in Austrailla.  The single was recieved very well.  As part of their relentless touring scheduel the band later showed up in Adeliade.  Here they met up with Bon Scot who was recovering from a deadly motorcycle accident.  Bon immediatly fell in love with ACDC.  He knew he could do better than their present singer and proved it on night while in Adeliade.  He then took command of the microphone.

When they finally got prepared to capitalise on all the work they suffered a major setback.  Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980.  This news brought a very disturbing possibility that ACDC might just stop in it's tracks.
