| The Beatles grew up in Liverpool, England.The four Beatles were Ringo Starr(Richard Starkey), John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison.They started out as a small band named the Quarrymen. The Quarrymen played music for small clubs around Europe. Ringo Starr, the Beatles drummer, is the oldest Beatle and he still lives in America now. John Lennon, the Beatles rythem guitarist and one of the lead singers was the the second oldest Beatle. He was shot on the lawn of the Dakota apartments in New York on December 8, 1980. Paul MaCartney, the base guitarist and the other lead singer, was the third oldest and lives in a farm house in scotland. George Harrison , the Beatles lead guitarist, is the youngest Beatle and died of lung cancer in 2001. John Lennon was very bad in school and got into fights. The Beatles seperated in 1970. Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager, died before the Beatles broke up. The Quarrymen, the band before the Beatles, formed in 1957. In the winter of 1976, Paul brought a lawsuit that ended the Beatles as a legal enity and the band broke up. The Beatles sold 5 number one albums in a row in 1964. On Febuary 7 1964 the Beatles wen tto the United States. They found Ringo Starr on August 16 1962 the last member of The Beatles. The Beatles first song on June 6 1962 did not seem worthy of relese. Brian Epstein purswaded the Ed Sullivan show to show the beatles in eraly November. The Beatles sighned a five year contract with Brian to become their manager. |
